The purpose of this Privacy Policy ("Policy") is to describe how the Booplings macOS application ("Booplings", "we", "our", or "us") handles user information. Booplings is committed to respecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws.
By using our application, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the application.
1. Data Collection and Use
Booplings collects minimal, anonymous analytics data solely for the purpose of fixing errors and improving the application. The majority of your data stays on your device:
- Interaction data such as mouse clicks and keyboard presses are counted locally only. This data is stored on your device and is not transmitted to any external server.
- Preferences, such as the selected character, screen position, and character size, are stored locally for convenience. These settings are not synced or accessed remotely.
- The application does not access your contacts, location, microphone, camera, or any other personal or system data.
- No user registration or login is required, and no personally identifiable information is collected.
Analytics Data Collected:
- Installation information: App version and build number when the app is first installed or updated
- Usage information: App version, build number, and currently selected character
- Character selection: When you change characters, we record which character was selected (for understanding feature usage)
- Crash reports: If the app crashes, technical information about the crash (stack traces, error logs) is collected to help us fix the issue
All analytics data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you. This data is used exclusively for error fixing and improving app stability.
2. Use of External Services
Booplings uses the following third-party services:
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google)
We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, services provided by Google, to collect the minimal analytics data described in Section 1. This includes:
- Anonymous usage events (app version, build number, selected character)
- Crash reports with technical information (stack traces, error logs)
- Installation and update events
Firebase may automatically collect some technical information (such as device type, operating system version) as part of their standard analytics service. This data is processed by Google according to their Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy Policy.
All data sent to Firebase is anonymous and cannot be used to identify individual users. We use this data exclusively for error fixing and improving app stability.
App Update Checks
All updates are distributed exclusively through booplings.com. The app checks for new versions using Firebase Remote Config. This request:
- Is performed anonymously
- Does not include personal data or device identifiers
- Is used solely for comparison with the current version to inform the user of updates
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Booplings shares anonymous analytics and crash data with Google Firebase as described in Section 2. This data:
- Is anonymous and cannot identify individual users
- Is used exclusively for error fixing and improving app stability
- Is processed by Google according to their privacy policies
- May be transferred and processed in countries where Google operates
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
Booplings stores data locally on your device for as long as you use the application. This includes interaction counters and preferences. All such data remains under your control and is deleted automatically if the application is uninstalled.
5. Your Rights
Since Booplings collects only anonymous analytics data that cannot identify you, traditional data subject rights (such as access, correction, or deletion) may not be applicable. However:
- You are in full control of all locally stored data (counters, preferences) through your operating system
- You can stop analytics collection by uninstalling the application
- If you have concerns about data collection, contact us through our Support page
6. Data Security
Local storage of preferences and counters is handled using the standard, secure system APIs provided by macOS. Analytics and crash data transmitted to Firebase is sent over encrypted connections using industry-standard security practices.
While no system is completely immune to vulnerabilities, we take reasonable measures to protect your data. All collected and transmitted data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this website. Since we do not collect any user information, including email addresses, we cannot send notifications about policy changes. The only way to stay informed about updates is to check the current version of this policy on this website or in the application (which also directs to this website). Your continued use of the application constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
